It was only a matter of time before I went back to being independent.

I definitely enjoyed my involvement with the Swedish startup Evothings AB but one of the caveats of the role was the fact I had to put less focus on doing what I love best; my daily personal blog around - an understandable demand for a company in the early stages of their development.

While the notion of relocating back to Australia was always on the cards; it is only natural that I ended up founding my own IoT based company in Australia which I respectively named in due context of the type of work I want to be involved with - RIoT International Pty, Ltd.

With that said; we have six months of cool and interesting projects which I look forward to blogging about - a number of them have been extremely interesting; but since I am now back at my new house, there are still many systems I need to get online and it smarter than the general home.

Our first blog post will be around the experiences of understanding solar energy and the process involved to get your solar inverter online so it is possible to track the energy production in real time, but also be informed when things go wrong - something important when you spend time away.

Every solar system is different; but the principles are the same across different manufacturers.
